Tree Trouble

In the past, disputes over trees have led to violence between neighbors. Trees can grow over property lines, resulting in foliage dropping onto a neighbor’s property and roots causing damage to pipes, walls, fences, walkways, and more. Trees can also cause unwanted shade or block views. According to Beverly Hills attorney Scott D. Fisher, however, no tree dispute should ever end in violence.

America Now – a nationally-syndicated news show – looked into this problem and interviewed Attorney Scott D. Fisher for legal tips.

“By neighbors working together and coming up with a solution so that the tree dispute can resolve, they certainly are providing themselves with benefits for years to come in the form of peace with the neighbor.”

Other tips he provided include:

  1. Work towards a fair solution; and
  2. Hire a professional tree service to assess the problem and determine a plan.
